Kristin Lothman, Therapist
My name is Kristin Lothman, and I am a part-time therapist at Pastoral Counseling
Services. I find my work to be inspiring because I have the privilege to witness
individuals and families undergo powerful transformation and discover their
own resiliency in difficult times. I understand that change is not easy and
can be anxiety provoking at times. In my opinion, it takes incredible courage
to acknowledge the need for help in making difficult but important life-giving
changes.
I received my B.A. in English from Davidson College in 2004, and my Master's
in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University in May 2010. I am a registered
Clinical Social Worker Intern (# ISW6217), pursuing clinical licensure in the
state of Florida. My social work experience includes crisis counseling, victim
advocacy, school-based counseling, and children and family therapy. Issues that
I typically deal with are: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief/loss,
relational problems, family relations, and children/adolescent behavioral problems.
Other areas of interest are: spirituality, health/wellness, and helping clients
cultivate a network of internal and external resources that promotes personal
resilience and a sense of meaningfulness. Prior to my career in social work,
I worked for Human Resources in the private sector in New York City and Denver.
The things that bring me much joy in life are: family, food, yoga, travel, hiking,
reading, and the Discovery Channel.
